It has been awhile since I last stepped on the scale, with the holidays and my weigh in days always being on a Tuesday I chose early on to move my next weigh in to today. I knew that the holiday season would throw my eating plan for a loop and it did, but only a little. I am proud that I never ate anything in large portions and made sure to plan for additional calories with more exercise and meal substitutions. This is not something that I suggest but it was a road map for me to remain successful through what traditionally would have been a train wreck.
2 months ago I found FNS- The day I walked through the door I weighed in at 300 pounds exactly. I was timid and nervous. I felt like this was not a place for a person like me, but I was seeking improvement. I was in a bit of a rut and weight loss had stalled. I took my leap of faith and am happy to say I was very wrong, FNS is a place for anyone who seeks improvement! My original commitment was to workout with the athletes of FNS only 3 days a week. That plan never happened, I found myself hungry for more and working out on my own was never enough. I started going as much as possible sometimes twice a day. There have been weeks that I have worked out 8-9 times. The energy and positive vibe that flows through the gym isn’t something that can be bought or in my opinion replicated. There are so many unique individual athletes and coaches that all work hard to get better at their specific goals. Outside of the gym, we stay active as a community with fitness events and others activities as well. My life has changed for the better because I found this place. My goals have changed because of FNS, I no longer doubt what is possible. I instead create a plan to achieve it. Besides the obvious scale and health benefits, FNS has played a major role in my mental game as well. The Mario 2.0 that has been talked about in posts of the past is here and hard work doesn’t scare me anymore. I know that my goals of the future are lofty. I am ok with setting the bar high, the challenge is what makes this journey so exciting.
To Brian, all the FNS Coaches and Athletes- I thank you for opening the doors to the gym and welcoming me with open arms! You all played a significant part in the loss of the 34 pounds in the 2 months since I joined FNS. These last 41 pounds to go will not be easy, but anything worth having requires hard work and that’s what I look forward to most!
With 41 pounds to go to reach my goal of 225 pounds I find it funny that again I find an event that I am training for that meets that time line. My goal is to complete wildflower @ 225 pounds or less. I am also extremely close to a a major mile stone on this journey. I am 14 pounds away from 200 pounds of total weight loss and that is very exciting!
