Dear 300+ Mario,
I remember the day I said good bye to 400+ Mario. Its seems so long ago, but the truth is it was not! You have been a thorn in my side for weeks and today I am writing you to say goodbye and fare well! You will not be missed, and we will never see each other again. You will be talked about, and I am 100% ok with that. My life has taken a new direction and you are not a part of my plan!
Sincelrly,
Mario 2.0
It’s difficult to put into words exactly the amount of emotion and excitement that is running through my heart, mind and body right now. I literally just want to beat my chest with my fist and scream with joy like I belong in a King Kong movie! I have thought about this day since I started my journey in May of this year. I have accomplished everything that I wanted from this experience, when in the beginning, it only seemed like a dream. I think it’s more important than ever to share what I have gotten and lost thus far:
- No more medications – Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol & Sleep Apnea are all GONE!
- I have energy that I once only dreamed of.
- I can buy clothes at just about any store I want.
- I fit in a booth at a restaurant, movie & airplane seats!
- I am competing in races like Warrior Dash, Muddy Buddy and plan on running more.
- My marriage is stronger than ever & my outlook on life & health have drastically changed.
While each of these things was and still are important to me I realized throughout this process that what I originally thought I wanted has changed. As limits were pushed and pounds fell off I realized that my dreams quickly would be a reality and what seemed to be so difficult only required dedication, hard work and motivation. I now have new dreams that I call goals. Dreams seem to be less obtainable and what I want to accomplish is mine for the taking. My new goals are simple to me but still require those same things; dedication, hard work and motivation! I hit a stall with my weight loss, not gaining weight but rather losing at a much slower pace than I would have expected with my food intake and the amount of exercise I was doing . I made a plan, stuck to that plan and the results came through!

Broke the 10 min mile last night! |
Recently, I have been called a health nut and a fitness freak among other things. I find this funny as I have been called much worse in my life. Part of this process is sharing my story. There are millions of people in that same boat as me and if I can inspire just one then I have completed my goal of paying it forward. The truth is anyone can do this, for years I have been loaded with excuses and my health got to the point that I needed to change. Make no misconception; I am not in any way calling this easy as it’s the furthest thing from that! Your mental approach has to be on point and ready for change. You will experience highs and lows, often day to day. You have to have a support group or at a minimum just someone to talk to, preferably someone who understands your struggle. In my case this is what has made me successful thus far. I have various avenues of support and when I realized that I was struggling to push beyond what I had thought was my limit, I reached out to a friend and asked him if I could join him at his gym, Fitness Never Sleeps. It was there that I realized my limits could be pushed even further than I had imagined. Find that reason for you to change, embark on a journey that will provide guaranteed results. Health is unlike other things in life, when you work hard it never goes unnoticed. Your gains might be small to some and colossal to you! As always thank you for taking the time to read and if you have any question, please feel free to email me at mario@sheddingounces.net.
